Paulk Mr.James W. Paulk of Ocilla died Thursday, October 29 1998, at Irwin County Hospital. He was 83. Mr. Paulk was born April 15,1915, in Irwin County, the son of Willie Paulk and Bessie Barfield Paulk Roberts Archer. Mr. Paulk was a farmer. He was a life-long resident of Irwin County. From the age of 12, after his father's death, he took over the operation of the family farm. ' He always nurtured and loved the land that had been entrusted to him by God. He was a former employee of A.T. Fuller Lumber Company. Mr. Paulk loved to fish and was known forthe watermelons he raised. He was a member of Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Paulk was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Roberts Paulk. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Bostick of Ocilla; two granddaughters, Kathleen Miller of Ocilla and Suzanne Bostick of Covington; one grandson, Michael Bostick of Valdosta; four great grandchildren and two sisters, Myrtice Whitley of Ocilla and Sara Hull of Jacksonville. Services were held at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church on.Sunday, November 1 at 3:30 pm., with Rev. Johnny Millerand Elder Jerry Bans officiating. Music was provided by pianist,Becky Anderson. Pallbearers were Wayne Weaver, Hugh Roberts,. Danny Howell, Brent Roberts, Charles Hunter and Doc Youghn. Interment was held at Brushy Creek Cemetery. Paulk Funeral Home was in charge.
