C. Effie Layton Gentry

 Mrs. Carrie Effie Layton Gentry,103, died Tuesday, December 16,1997 at Tift 
Health Care in Tifton.
 Mrs. Gentry was born April 7,1894, in Carroll county,the daughter of Needham 
and Molly Bledsoe
Layton. She was a member of Waterloo Baptist Church in Irwin county. She was a 
homemaker.
  Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald & Eleanor Gentry of 
Warner Robins; Rudene
& Ida Gentry of Irwinville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nellie & Frank 
Register of Waterloo and 
Hazel & Rev. Hugh Ellington of Tifton;two daughters-in-law, Rillie Gentry of 
Waterloo and Bertha Gentry of Irwinville; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-
grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by two sons, Tristan and Ted Gentry.
 Funeral services were held Thursday, December 18, 1997 at 2p.m.at North 
Chapel, Albritton-Beaumont
with the Rev. Jack Thompson officiating.
 Pallbearers were her grandsons.
 Interment was in Waterloo Baptist Church cemetery.
 Albriaon-Beaumont Funeral Directors, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
