Paulk The funeral service for John C. Paulk of Ocilla, who died Wednesday, January 21, 1998 at home, was held Friday, January 23 at Mt. Union Primitive Baptist Church in Coffee County. He was 86. Elder Keith Smith officiated at the 11:00 a.m. service with interment in the church cemetery.. Pallbearers were Alan Paulk, Jr., Kirk Paulk, Rob Paulk, John Paulk, Dan Fussell, and Donnie Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Aubrey Batton, Norman Fussell, and Woodrow Harper. Pianist was Hoyt Courson with singers: Bernie Evans and Ann Tucker. Mr. Paulk was born November 2, 1911 in Irwin County to Loll and Rachel Vickers Paulk. A retired farmer and member of Mt. Union Church, he had lived in the community all his life. He was preceeded in death by wife, Marjorie Gay Paulk. Mr. Paulk is survived by three sons: J. Ron Paulk of Fitzgerald, Alan G. Paulk of Douglas, and Robert A. "Bob" Paulk of Beechgrove, TN; one daughter: Cecile Paulk Sumner of Ocilla; two brothers: Clarence Howard Paulk and Jacob Willis Paulk, both of Irwin County; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
