Ruby Thompson
The funeral service for Mrs. Ruby P. Thompson of Ocilla, who died Tuesday, 
February 10, 1998, was held Thursday, February 12 in Ocilla United Methodist 
Church. She was 78.
Rev. Kirk Loyless officiated at the 11:00 a.m. service with interment in 
Whitley Cemetery in Irwin County .
Pallbearers were Albert Raffield, Clauye McCranie, Joe Portier, Larry Young, 
Jule Ed Thomas. Nelson Paulk and Harvey Davis. Organist was Jean Dent; pianist 
was Irma Young and soloist, Charles Purvis..
The deceased was born April 2,1919 in Irwin County to Samuel and Bessie Jape 
Taylor Paul. A homemaker and widow of Charles H. Thompson, member of Ocilla 
United Methodist Church, Mrs. Thompson had lived in Irwin. County most of her 
life and was a former employee of Delta's Dime Store, Fitzgerald and a member 
of the Order of Eastern Star, Osceola Chapter. She was a former member of the 
Pink Ladies and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and Mother 
Advisor of the Rainbow Girls Roswell.
 She is survived by two daughters: Jean P. Biggers of Ocilla and Faye P. 
Williford of Rochelle; one brother, Willie Paul of Ocilla; one 	 sister: Odell 
Raffield of Warner Robins; 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great 
great grandchild.
 Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
