Mr. Willis died Sunday afternoon at Tift General Hospital where he had been a patient following a heart attack several days ago. The Rev. Jesse Allgood officiated at the 11 a. m. service Tuesday morning and interment was in the Ocilla Cemetery. Active pallbearers were, Frank Crouch, Gene Youghn, Newt Hancock, Troy Tankersley, Raymond Griffin, Murphy Rogers, Oscar Powell and Raymond Paulk. Honorary pallbearers were, Charter members of the Ocilla Rotary Club and members of the Carrie Paulk Bible Class of the Ocilla Baptist Church. Mr. Willis, owner and operator of Willis Concrete Block and Brick Co. at the time of his death, had been one of Ocilla's business leaders for many years. The son of the late John Marshall Willis, he had lived most of his life in the community. He was a member of the Ocilla Baptist Church and former member of the Ocilla Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife, Mrs Frank Willis of Ocilla; a son, Rev. M. Burns Willis of Macon; a daughter Mrs. Rudy Blackmar of Ocilla; a brother, Bennett Norman Willis of Chula, four sisters, Mrs. John Vickers, Mrs. Everett Ross, Mrs. C. H. Reid and Mrs. James McCranie all of Ocilla and five grandchildren. Paulk Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
