He was 70. Mr. Hobbs was born May 24, 1928 in Irwin County, the son of Thomas and Fannie Hobbs. He was a farmer and had lived in Enigma for 50 years. He was a former member of the Enigma School Board. Mr. Hobbs was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include ,one son, Ricky Hobbs of Enigma; two daughters, Sandra Rogers of West Berrien Community and Sherry Yearaus of Charlotte, N.C.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtice Cullpepper of Poulan and Ora Hutto of Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Services were held Friday, May 29, 1998 at 6:00 p,m. at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Richardson and Rev. Tim Oliver officiating.' Music 'was provided by soloist Lindsey Evans. Pallbearers were Gary Hobbs, Tommy Hobbs; Wyne Hobbs, Franklin Hobbs, Greg Hobbs, Donnie Culpepper, Lionel Hutto and Matt Rogers. Interment was at Brushy Creek Cemetery.
