Mrs. Wilson was born August 23, 1922 in Irwin county and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Lula Brown. She attended school in the Lax Community and was a member of New Bethel of Lax Church. Survivors include Annie Laster, Elnora Meddler, Mattie Williams, Ruthie Mitchell ofJacksonville, FL; Linda Call Johnson and Bessie Cutter of Ocilla; four sons: James Henry,Thomas Wilson of Williston, FL; Martin Wilson, Leeroy Wilson of Jacksonville, FL; thirty-four grandchildren, fifty five greatgrandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her husband, James Henry Wilson, Sr. and a son, Woodrow, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 7, 1997 at New Bethel Baptist Church in Ocilla with Elder Walter Baker officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Bennie Daniels, Michael Mathis, Michael MCFadden, Johnny Mike, Henry Baker, Christopher Barnes and Mark Johnson. Interment was in Ocilla Cemetery.
