She was 84. Mrs. Rodgers was born Dec 4, 1913 in Turner County, the daughter of E1bert and Rachel Fletcher. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Rodgers was a member of Abba Baptist Church. Mrs. Rodgers lived most of her life in Irwin County. She was a 1931 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and a graduate of Georgia Teachers College. She taught elementary school at the Cotton Mill and at Irwinville. Mrs. Rodgers was a former member of the Home Demonstration Club and past Treasurer and past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Osceola Chapter'#431. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ebb Rodgers. Survivors include 4 daughters, Julia Denmark, Rae Giddens, Jane Rodgers, all of Lands Crossing and Ginger Lepley of Tallahassee, FL.; one brother, W. Harrison Fletcher of Logansville; two sisters, Jessie Rodgers of Columbia,S.C. and Mildred Fletcher of Irwinville; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services were held at Abba Baptist Church on Saturday,June 6;1998 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Howard Kitchens and Rev. Ed Reeves officiating. Music was provided by pianist Cheryl Johnson and soloist Karen Gutierrez. Pallbearers were Ronny Branam, Gene Johnson, Buddy Gentry, Gene Luke, Howard Maddox and James Tomberlin.
