The infant child of John Fussell, of Irwin County, died on April 1st very 
suddenly and under suspicious circumstances that led to the accusation against 
the father that he had killed it.  He had been heard to remark that he was not 
the father of the child when quarreling with the mother.  The evidence before 
the coroner’s jury was not sufficient to justify them in holding the accused 
for the murder of the child.  However since the inquest Fussell has left for 
parts unknown.
