McCranie, Jr. The engagement of Miss Jonnie Reba Willis and James W. McCranie, Jr., announced today by the bride-elect's mother, Mrs. John Marshall Willis. The double ring ceremony will be solemnized at 5:00 o'clock Sunday September 28, at the First Baptist church of Ocilla, followed by a reception given for the couple at the Ocilla Community Home. Rev. C. E. Means will officiate at the ceremony. No cards will be issued to the wedding. Miss Willis was valedictorian of the 1941 graduating class at Irwin County High School at Mystic. Mr. McCranie was a graduate of Fitzgerald High school class of the 1934. He was connected with A. B. & C. railway shops as apprentice until the last week when he secured a position as a full- fledged journeyman machinist. M. Willis and the late John Marshall Willis, to James William McCranie Jr., of Fitzgerald and Atlanta, son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Mcranie, Sr. The marriage will be an event of September 28, taking place at the First Baptist church of Ocilla at 5 o'clock. Miss Willis was graduated from Irwin County High School, where she graduated with first honors. The bride-elect's mother is the former Miss Mary Anne Sutton, daughter of Mrs. J. J. Sutton amd the late Jack Jackson Sutton. The bride-elect's father was the son of the late Henry Washington and Susie Ann Livingston Willis. He was vice president of the Naval Stores Marketing Association of Brunswick, Ga., and president of the First National Bank of Ocilla. Mrs. J. W. Vickers, of Ocilla; Mrs. Everette Ross, of Alma; Mrs. C. H. Reid, of Fitzgerald, are her sisters, and her brothers are Jack Willis, of Ocilla; Eston Willis of Tifton; Frank Willis, of Ocilla, and Bennett Willis, of Enigma. Mr. McCranie is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. McCranie Sr., of Fitzgerald. His mother is the former Miss Orlena Gertrude Harrell, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Levi and Margaret Winifred Daniels Harrell. His only sister is Miss Marguerite McCranie, and his two brothers are Carl McCranie and Emory McCranie, all of Fitzgerald. The groom-to-be was graduated from Fitzgerald High school and served his apprenticeship at the A. B. C. Railway shops of Fitzgerald. He is now employed by the Seaboard Railway shop in Atlanta. Re. C.
