All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm *********************** This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: "Pattie Causey" (Jackson Co. court records - 3 Aug 1796) "Absalom Ramey came into court and pray'd an order be grant for the binding the Orphan Children of Presley Raymey to wit, Daniel & Edmund untill they come to the age of twenty one years - Also Nancy, Sarah & Fanny until they arrive to the age of Sixteen, the two boys to be learnt the art or trade of a House Joiner and all necessary Education that Mechanics require the girls to have such education as their Sex require or is usual to give girls" _________ "Miles Gathright came into court and made it known that he had an Orphan Child at his house since the twenty seventh of May last, by the name of Elizabeth Hickey (or Hichey) and pray'd payment for keeping her - Ordered that he be paid two dollars & twenty - five cents pr. Month for her Support from that time untill next Court which he has promised that he will keep her for which shall be paid as soon as appropriations are made" __________ Orcered that one sixth of the Tax of each individual be added to the General tax for County uses & the Collector be served with a copy of the order
