Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of seventy five dollars in hand paid by said Ellis to said Benge, the payment whereof the said Benge doth hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth bargain sell and confirm unto the said Ellis and to his heirs forever one certain tract of land containing seventy five acres, being part of a tract of Eleven hundred and fifty acres, granted to Micajah Williamson Sen in his life time, & adjoining the Apalacha & Green County line, lying and being in the County of Franklin, when surveyed, now Jackson County, in the reserve, and having such form & shape natural and artificial as the above platt represents, beginning at a water oak X on the Apalacha River and runing N.21.E.24 chs. to a dogwood X Thence S.3.E.10 chs. to a poplar X Thence N.33.W7.50 to said Ellis’s old hickory X Thence S.60.W.36 ch. 50 links along said Ellis’s old line to his Gum X on said River. Thence down the meanders of said River, to the beginning, together with all the appurtenances thereon being, or thereunto belonging, to have and to hold, use occupy and enjoy for ever without any lawful hindrance or interruption of him his heirs, or any other person, and said Benge doth further covenant and agree with said Ellis and heirs, that he the said Benge, his heirs, excors., administrators &C. jointly and severally, will warrant and for ever defend the bargained and hereby sold land and premises, unto the said Ellis and to his heirs and assigns for ever, against the lawful claim or claims of every other person or persons whatever. In Witness whereof the said Micajah Benge and Sarah his wife, hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day & year first above written.
