pages 319-321 (Tax Collectors Sale) Dec 28 1798 deed from PHELIMON MARTIN,Esq.,
Collector of taxes of Franklin County, to ELDRIDGE HARGROVE whereas $3.75 was
due for taxes on the parcel of land for the year 1795 ,public sail was held
at the Court House in Franklin Co. on Oct 14,1796 ,with ELDRIDGE HARGROVE being
the highest bidder for the sum of $9.50 said tract containing 575 acres lying
in Franklin County,granted to JOHN TURNER and sold as the property of ABNER
JONES lying on Marburyes fork of the Oconee River. Signed: PHILEMON MARTIN.
