All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bill Frazier fishtrap@bellsouth.net November 1, 2006, 10:40 am South Middle fork - Oconee River Written: 1798 Jackson County Georgia Superior Court Deeds Isham Williams - Middle fork of the Oconee River 1798, March 23 --- This Indenture made between Isham Williams of Jackson County of the one part unto Isaiah Goolsby of Oglethorpe County, Georgia of the other part, for and in consideration of the sum of $100 dollars, upon delivery of these presents have granted, bargained and sold all that tract or parcel of land lying in Jackson County on the Middle fork of the Oconee River butting and bounding as follows (to wit) Southwesterly by unknown land, Northwestwardly by Josiah Wood and Southeastwardly by the Middle fork of the Oconee River beginning at a hickory 3X on the bank of the Oconee River, thence South85 West and 88 chains to a post oak 3X, thence N20 E60 chains to a gum corner on the river, thence down the meanders of the river to the beginning corner hickory.
