T. Quillian has gone North to purchase a large stock if spring and summer goods for the firm of W. A. Quillian & CO. Rev. Henry Newton, of Athens, returned home this morning after a few days visit to friends in the Grove. He left an appointment to preach at the Presbyterian church in this place on the third Sunday in March. The many friends of Mrs. R. H. Hawks who has been dangerously ill from La Grippe, will be glad to hear that she is some better at this writing. Apropos: There has been a great deal of sickness in this section lately from coughs, colds and kindred complaints, and the doctors have been kept busy day and night. Mr. Jesse Smith, a prominent farmer if this county, a prominent farmer of this county, is in the Grove today. Mr. Frank Rhodes, representing of the popular firm of Talmadge Bros., of Athens, Ga, is in the Grove this morning on business. Mr. Bunny McCurdy, of Athens, came up Sunday evening on a short visit to friends and relatives in our town. Messers. Tom and Oscar Williford, accompanied by their wives left this morning for Baltimore, New York and other northern markets to lay in a large stock of dry goods for their firm. The little child of Mr. and Mrs. Perkins, of Atlanta, who are now on a visit to Mrs. Perkins, mother, Mrs. S.M. Shankle, of our town, is quite sick with La Grippe and whooping cough. We hope to be able to chronicle its entire recovery its entire recovery soon.
