Matthew Lee Barnes, 7, of Commerce, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Egleston 
Hospital in Atlanta.

He was the son of Kevin and Kim Barnes of Commerce and was a student at Banks 
County Primary School.

Survivors in addition to his parents include a half-brother, Tyler Cruse, 
N.C.; grandparents, Gerald and Stella Barnes, Homer, and Ted and Ruth 
Burnette, Franklin, N.C.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 26, at Nicholson Baptist Church with 
the Rev. Terry Smith and Jerry Barnes officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill 
Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Egleston Pediatric Intensive Care 
Unit of Egleston Hospital.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
