She was born on May 28, 1932, in Hart County, and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Gertie Lou Covington Marlowe. She retired from the textile industry and was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Bridges; and a brother, Clarence “Bug” Marlowe Jr.. Survivors include daughters, Rebecca Sweatman, Winder, and Peggy Collins, Ila; sons and daughter-in-law, Randall and Ann Reynolds, and Steve Pressley, all of Talmo; brothers, Larry Marlowe, Roswell, and Thomas Marlowe, Pendergrass; five grandchildren, Ken Owens, Lisa Greenlee, Sharon Fowler, Amy Dowell and Audrey Booth; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, November 10, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Burial was in Talmo Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Billy Dooley, Michael Dowel, Josh Owens, Chris Owens, Greg Booth, and Jeff Fowler. Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
