Mrs. Carter
   Commerce - Mrs. Alma Inez Carter, 79, of 16 Wood St., Commerce died Saturday
in the BJC Hospital after a short illness.
   A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Carter was the daughter of the late James
and Martha Murray Hutchins and widow of the late Dock Strickland Carter.
   Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Stamey and Mrs. Myrtice E.
Waldroup, both of Forest Park and Mrs. Martha Jean Eller of Monroeville, N.J.;
two sons, James L Carter of Atlanta and D.S. Carter Jr. of Commerce; two
sisters, Mrs. Claude Coleman and Mrs. Lester Potts, both of Nicholson; 13
grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
   Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the First Baptist Church of
Commerce with the Revs. Ray Austin and Dan Fuller officiating.  The body will
lie in state from 10:30 a.m. and burial will be in the Grey Hill Cemetery.
   Little-Ward Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
