Z. Cooper, formerly of this city, but now of Commerce. Mr. Cooper was seventy-three years of age and was one of Jackson County’s best citizens. He was a confederate soldier, having fought in many battles during the war between the states. The cooper family have been prominent in Georgia for years and the death of Mr. Cooper leaves two brothers, Mr. J. Z. Cooper, of Commerce and a brother in Texas, out of seven, who all served in the war.
