He was born on October 17, 1919, in Abilene, Texas, and was the son of the late Homer and Georgia Brown Dill. He was a retired owner of Dill’s Shell Service Station, and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Dill was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas, Odd Fellows, Disabled American Veterans, VFW and DAR. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Effie Mae Kennedy Dill; second wife, Emma Stella Wyatt Dill; and a son, Charles Louis Dill. Survivors include a daughter, Georgia Chitwood Austin, Hull; two sons, James Edward Dill, Waco, Texas, and Andrew Jackson Dill Jr., Hull; several stepchildren; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 24, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home. Burial was at Evans Memory Gardens. Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
