Ethel T. Epps, 89, of Athens, died Thursday, November 2, 2006.

A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Lenora 
Smallwood Wood. She was retired from the Counselor/Education Department at the 
University of Georgia and was a member of the Oconee Heights Baptist Church 
since 1951, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years.

Survivors include her husband, Willie Epps, Athens; daughters and sons-in-law, 
Virginia and Ken Zambo, Richmond, Texas, and Betty and Roger Dale Ellis, Hull; 
three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six great-great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 4, at the Oconee Heights Baptist 
Church with the Rev. Crist Camden officiating. Burial was at Evergeeen 
Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oconee Heights Baptist Church, 4180 
Jefferson Rd., Athens, Ga. 30607.

Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
