Commerce, Ga., August 22-(Special)-Dr. W B J Hardman died at his home in this city yesterday and his remains were interred today with religious services by Dr. Nelson. Dr. Hardman was 82 years old. No man who has ever lived in this section was more widely known. He has practiced medicine here for fifty years. He graduated at Jefferson college in Philadelphia, and since his graduation he has been an acknowledged leader in his profession. The last thirty years of his life was devoted primarily to the ministry. He was pastor of the First Baptist church, in this city, for eighteen successive years. He was studious and industrious and his fine business traits of character were recognized and rewarded. He began life without a dollar and died one of the wealthiest men in this section. He is the father of Dr. L G Hardman, the present representative of Jackson county. Four sons, Dr. W B, T C, R L, and JB, are prominently identified with business interests.
