R. A. Jackson Dies 
Tuesday; Hold 
Services Thursday 

R. A. Jackson, well known resident of the Tallahassee Road, died at his home 
Tuesday night at 8 o’clock after an illness of one week. 

Services are to be conducted Thursday at noon from Prospect Methodist church. 
The Rev. C. R. Wheelis, pastor of the Athens circuit, officiating. 

Burial will be in Prospect cemetery, McDorman-Bridges in charge of 
arrangements. Pall-bearers will be Donnie Williams, Esco Hill, Corris Perry, 
Edd Fleming, June Wages, and Ellis Wages. 

Mr. Jackson is survived by two sons, W. A. Jackson, Bogart, and C. H. Jackson, 
Jefferson; adopted daughter, Mrs. J. G. Wade, Athens, two sisters, Mrs. Bessie 
Maynadr, Bogart, and Mrs. J. C. Fowler, Athens, two grandchildren and three 
great-grandchildren. 
A native of Oglethorpe county, Mr. Jackson had resided on the Tallahassee Road 
for the past forty years. He was a member of Prospect Methodist church and had 
been since the church was organized. 

For sometime he had been with his son in Jefferson, C. H. Jackson, and 
returned to his home just prior to his serious illness.  Mr. Jackson was 68 
years old and was well known and popular throughout his section.  His passing 
is a source of sadness to his many friends.
