Billy Eugene Meeler, 70, of Commerce, died Friday, November 3, 2006, at his 
residence following a brief illness.

He was the son of the late Frank E. and Mary Helen Meeler. Mr. Meeler was 
preceded in death by a brother, Thurston Bill Meeler; and a sister, Frankie 
Jean Meeler.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Martin Meeler, Commerce; sons, Kenneth 
Meeler and Billy Meeler Jr., both of Commerce, and Steve Meeler, Maysville; 
step-children, Randy Wofford, Stone Mountain, Scottie Howington, Nierstein, 
Germany, and Jimmy Howington, Plant City, Fla.; step-daughters, Diana 
Galloway, Gillsville, and Tami Brown, Comer; sisters, Juanita Mintz, 
Maysville, and Mary Lee Dutton, Loganville; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-
grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 6, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral 
Home. Burial was at Grey Hill Cemetery.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
