Departed this life on the 7th inst., Mrs. Elizabeth Mitchell, wife of Mr. 
Walter Mitchell of the county of Jackson, in her seventy second year.  She 
had been a consistent member of the Baptist church for a period of fifty-
four years, had raised a large family of children, who with her aged husband 
mourn their loss.  Her end was peaceful through faith in her precious 
Redeemer.

Pneumonia was the disease of which she died.  She was full of faith and good 
works, an ornament to the christian profession, of a meek and quiet spirit, 
one of those Virginia mothers who have done so much to form the character of 
the people of middle and upper Georgia, and qualify them for the discharge 
of every duty of Church and State.  May her husband, her many children and 
grand children and numerous friends, be comforted in view of her better 
state in the Heavenly mansions and be prepared to join her there, when they 
too are called away by death.
