Evelyn “Granny” Murphy, 90, formerly of the Harber House Inn, Commerce, died 
Saturday, June 24, 2006, at her residence in Kaplan, La.

Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl George Alexander; 
second husband, Patrick Edward Murphy; one brother, Ellis Wiggins, and one 
sister, Theresa Mae Baker.

Survivors include one son, Kem Vaughn, Slidell, La.; two daughters and sons-in-
law, Rosalie and Arthur Richard, Commerce, and Earlene Alexander and Harry 
Mire, Kaplan, La.; four brothers, Lloyd, Leslie and Henry Wiggins, Metairie, 
La., and Charlie Wiggins, Mandeville, La.; seven grandchildren, Albert 
Pellissier, Michael Pellissier, Andrew Richard, Jeffery Hildreth, Craig 
Hildreth, Tina Vaughn and Sabrina Vaughn; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 28, at the Indian Bayou United 
Methodist Church, Louisiana. Burial was at Garden of Memories in Metairie, La.
Vincent Funeral Home, Kaplan, La., was in charge of arrangements.
