Jackson Herald, March 9, 1939
MRS. ABIGAIL LOUISE PHILLIPS, aged 83 years, of Commerce, died at the 
residence of her son, Mr. Holman Phillips, after an extended illness, Sunday, 
Sept. 19th.
    She is survived by 3 sons, Messrs. Holman Phillips of Commerce, GA; Lewis 
Phillips of Anderson, SC and Loomis Phillips of Athens, GA; one brother, Mr. 
H. R. Cole of Commerce.
    Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 20th at 4 p.m. from Middle River 
Baptist Church in Franklin County, with Rev. C. C. Tooke officiating.
    Interment was in the churchyard cemetery with Little-Ward Funeral 
Directors in charge.
