Gary Dean Smith, 51, of Nicholson, died Saturday, October 7, 2006, at BJC 
Medical Center, Commerce. 

Born in Clarke County, he was the son of Beulah Tolbert Smith of Nicholson and 
the late Roy N. Smith. He was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church 
and was employed by C.A. Muren and Sons as CFO. He was president of the 
Georgia Christmas Tree Growers Association and owner of 7G’s Christmas Tree 
Farm. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Gail Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Joyce Lehman Smith, Nicholson; his 
mother; brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Jennie Smith, Nicholson, and 
Glenn and Terri Smith, Macon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gina and Keith 
Cavender, Franklin, Tenn., Gloria and David Agnew, Clarkesville, Greta and 
Terry Ivey, Commerce; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 10, at the Antioch United 
Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Cathy and Dr. Loretta Altman 
officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
