James Arthur “Mack” Storey, 79, of Jefferson, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006, 
following an extended illness.

He was born on October 9, 1926, in Jackson County, and was the son of the late 
Shade Winn and Marian Dell McRee Storey. He was a cattle and poultry farmer 
and was a member of Academy Baptist Church. Mr. Storey was preceded in death 
by a brother, Bill Storey; and sister Dot Storey Bailey.

Survivors include a sister, Martha Storey Hope, Gainesville; nieces, Marian 
Hope Finco, Watkinsville, Dell Kieke Tate, Jefferson, and Sue Hope Ware, 
Gainesville; nephew, Walter Storey, Jefferson; and a number of great-nieces 
and great-nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 11, in the chapel of Evans Funeral 
Home with the Rev. Bill Carpenter officiating. Burial was at Woodbine 
Cemetery, Jefferson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2200 Lake 
Blvd., Atlanta, Ga. 30319.

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
