Wood At Center Church Mrs. W.T. Wood, 57, died suddenly Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock at her home at Brooks Crossing on the Commerce road. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 4 o’clock at Center Methodist church, with Rev. Y.A. Bailey, pastor of Comer Methodist church, officiating. Mrs. Wood was born in Jackson county and had lived in the county practically all her life. She had been in poor health for the past six years. Before her health failed she was active in church work and other activities of her community. Her death comes as a shock to her many friends. Burial services will take place in Center cemetery with McDorman-Bridges in charge. She is survived by her husband, W.T. Wood,; five daughters, Mrs. J.H. Massey, Danielsville; Mrs. N.O. Matthews, Athens; Mrs. Joe Nash, Atlanta; Miss Seba Wood, Athens; four sons, P.D. Collins, Athens; Curtis Wood, Athens; Tiff Wood, Americus; Sam Wood, Athens; sisters, Mrs. J.P. Pace, Center; Mrs. Ed Pace Center; Mrs. Joe Fulcher, Athens; Mrs. Charlie Duncan, Chattanooga, Tenn.; Mrs. Willie Burroughs, Athens; brothers, Carl P. Pace, Athens, and Clyde Pace, Athens.
