All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm *********************** This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: "Pattie Causey" "State of Georgia Jackson County I George Bagby of the State & County aforesaid being in per. sound mind & memory & recollecting & calling to mind the uncertainty of life do make this my last Will & testament Revoking all others do confirm & ratify this as my last will & testament (to wit) First I resign my Soul into the hands of my gracious & wise creator trusting he will dispose of the same in mercy, Secondly I submit my body to the dust to be buried in a plain & decent manner there to rest til the morning of the resurrection Thirdly I dsipose of my worldly goods in the following manner - Item. I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Miriam Bagby the land & plantation Whereon I now live with all the negroes that is not already given to wit. Tom, Charlotte, Frank, Eave, Delphia, ? (name cut off - I'll check), Andy, Lucy, & Isaac, also all my stock of horses cattle hogs and goats & sheep also all my household furniture & working tools Also all bonds & notes out of which she is to pay all my just debts which I leave to her untill my youngest child comes of age at which time I wish an equal division to be made of all my property among my Sons only except such as I shall will to my wife & Daughters (to wit) I give and bequeath to my loving wife during natural life the land & plantation whereon I now live with the household furniture Also four cows & calves two horses half the hogs sheep & goats & half the working tools also three negroes to wit Andy Eave & Delphia also two Stills all of which at her decease I will to be equally divided among my sons only (to wit) John, Joseph, Thomas, Abner Henry William & George Washington Bagby with the following exceptions to wit that a negro boy named Jeremiah which I formerly gave to my son John Bagby be valued at the time of such division & the valuation to be deducted out of his Legacy I also desire that my three youngest sons Henry William & Washington be furnished by my executors with a horse & saddle a peace of a reasonable valu! e one after another as they come of age extra of an equal division in the rest of my estate before mentioned. Item to my loving & truly begotton daughter Dicey Wood I give & bequeath one negro girl named Sylva & also the Stock & other property already furnished her with Item I lend unto my loving daughter Sally Wood one negro girl Badney -meto? & also the Stock & other property that she has in possession during her natural & at her death to her heirs forever - Item I give & bequith to my beloved daughter Rachael Spears one negro girl named Bett together with all the Stock & property already delivered to her Item I give & bequeath to my youngest daughter Betsey Jefferes? Bagby one negro girl named Dinah one feather (bed?) & furniture also one cow & calf & one hunting saddle & Should the said negro girl die before her marriage or coming of age I will that she be paid three hundred dollars out of my other estate in lieu thereof And I hereby constitute & appoint my wife Miriam Bagby & John Bagby my son & also Joseph Bagby another of my sons my legal executors of this my last Will & testament who may if they should deem it expedient sell the land & plantation at any time before the decease of my wife Miriam Bagby & by her consent so as it be done for the mutual interest of the whole of my children concerned therein?
