Jackson County, GA. Petition of AGRIPPA ATKINSON, one of the Securities for Mary Jones, Administratrix of James Jones, to be relieved because said Mary is about to move out of the County. She is ordered to appear at the next court. ____________________________________________________________ 25 October 1803 Page 92: Issued citation to MARY JONES to obtain Letters of Administration on the Estate of JAMES JONES, late of Jackson County, deceased. 24 Jan 1804 [P 144 in Book] p. 41-42 It appearing that MARY JONES had given the notice required by law to obtain Letters of Administration on the Estate of JAMES JONES late of this Couinty, deceased, and no person appearing to gainsay the same, It is ordered that Letters of Administration be granted to her, she complying with the requisite of the law. ____________________________________________ 2 Jan 1809 (probably) as entry following this is that date and on very next pp pp 76-79 On the petition of MARY JONES, Administratrix of JAMES JONES, dec'd., praying that Benjamin Camp be made a joint Administrator with her - it is ordered that the said Benjamin Camp be a joint administrator with the said Mary on the Estate of JAMES JONES, dec'd. 2 Jan 1809 pp 80-86 (p 172 in book] To the honorable the Justices of the Court of Ordinary in and for the County aforesaid, the petition of Agrippa Atkinson of the State of GA and County aforesaid, respectfully sheweth that your petitioner became security for MARY JONES, Administratrix of the Estate of JAMES JONES, dec'd., some years since and that the said MARY JONES, is about the removed out of the limits of this County, your petitioner therefore prays your honorable worship to relieve him from the said securityship by taking such other security from her, the said MARY JONES as may be deemed necessary and your petitioner as in duty bound. Will ever pray. Whereupon it is ordered that the said MARY JONES appear before the next Court of Ordinary to be held on the first Monday in March next to give good and sufficient security for her administration on the Estate of JAMES JONES, dec'd., and in case of her failing to do so, to be dealt with as the law directs for a contempt of this Court, and the said MARY JONES be served with a copy of this order 15 days prior to the sitting of the next Court of Ordinary to be held in and for this County. _________________________ [p 176 in book] p87 MARY JONES, administratrix of JAMES JONES, dec'd, failing to come into Court and comply with a former order of this Court as respects her giving other Security, the said Mary is considered in contempt of this until she complies with the requisites of such order, Benjamin CAMP came into Court and acknowledged himself as Security for said MARY JONES as Administratrix as aforesaid for the amount of said Estate.
