(Viz) In the first place, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Susannah, my Negroes, Jim, Phill, Joshua, Squire, Jinney, Lillah, Lettisha, Lucy and Oliver, and their increase during her natural life - also the whole of the plantation on which I now live during her natural life - also all my household and Kitchen furniture during her life - I also give and bequeath unto my said wife, my Gin, my waggon, and all my plantation tools, and all my credits & all my personal property, except hereinafter bequeathed, and to pay all my just debts, and all my cash legacies. I further give and bequeath unto my wife as aforesaid a tract or lot of land in Lee County, and a lot of land in the gold Region which I have lately drawn, in the late Gold Lotte! ry (for the purpose of assisting in the payment of my just debts, all of which is to be subject to the payment of my just debts, and the remainder to be for her use and benefit during her natural life, and after her death to be equally divided among six of my children to (wit) Lydia Strawbridge, Henry Nixon, Elizabeth Archer, William Nixon, John Nixon & Sarah Collier. Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lydia Strawbridge my Negro Fellow named Claiborn. I give and bequeath unto my Son Henry Nixon, my negro Boy Bille, I give and bequeath unto my Son William Nixon my Negro boy Booker. I give and bequeath unto my Son John Nixon my two negro Boys Nelson and Frank. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sally Collier my negro boy named Mingo. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Archer three hundred dollars in Cash within twelve months after my decease - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca Robinson five dollars in Cash - I give and bequeath unto my Son-in-law Isaac Knox, one dollar. I give and bequeath unto Dianna Allen formerly wife of my Son Tapley Nixon, one dollar - I hereby appoint my wife Susannah Executrix and Asa Varnum Executor of this my last will and Testament.
