One negro man named Isaac and one negro woman named Milly three hundred acres of Land being part of the tract of land whereon I now live including the dwelling house and other buildings where I now live one road waggon and two horses (her choice) ten head of cattle and ten head of hogs (her choice) two feather beds and furniture with all the farming utensils this property to be kept together and the proceeds of it to be applied to the Support of my wife and raising and educating my three youngest children (viz) James Delila & Mary Tait - also all my house hold and kitchen furniture that I may leave at my decease not hereinafter bequeathed to other persons 2nd I Give and bequeath to my Son William Tait one negro man named Tom which said Tom has been put in possession of my said Son William heretofore also one tract of land lying in the County of Habersham and State aforesaid in the fifth district of said county & Lot No. 9 containing four hundred & ninety acres 3d I Give and bequeath to my grand Son James M. Garner one negro girl named Caroline and her increase also the tract of land whereon Green Garner now lives & which I purchased from George Shaw all these and no more 4th I Give and bequeath to my Son James Tait Two negroes (viz) Albert & Henry also the remaining part of the tract of land whereon I now live after taking off the three hundred acres herein before bequeathed to my wife Susannah Tait - also a Young Black Horse which he now claims and one feather bed and furniture and one Cow and calf 5th I Give and bequeath to my daughter Delila Tait two negroes (viz) Cuff & Lucy & her increase & a feather bed & furniture 6th I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Tait two negroes (viz) Nancy & Mary with their increase & one feather bed & furniture 7 I Give to my Step Son Joseph Adams one feather bed & furniture & one Cow & calf 8th It is my will that at the death or marriage of my wife Susannah Tait - the land herein before bequeathed to her during her life or widowhood Shall belong to my Son James Tait 9th It is further my will that all the property herein before bequeathed to my Grand Son James M. Garner Shall revert to and become the property of and subject to an equal division among my four children (vz) William James Delila & Mary Tait in case of his death without issue or legal heirs 10th all the residue of my estate I will to be Sold and equally divided among my four children (vz) William James Delila & Mary Tait also the property given to my wife except the land Shall at her death or marriage be Sold and Subject to an equal distribution among my four children above named 10th I hereby nominate and appoint my two friends James Sheilds & George Sheilds executors to this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all former will or wills by me heretofore made In testimony whereof I hereunto Set my hand and affix my Seal this December 11th 1836 James (his mark) Tait (LS) In presence of John I.M.
