He was a faithful soldier and remained in service until the close of the War when the Company was disbanded at Christiansburg. Lt. J. M. Butt of Abington, Va., is the only Lt. of the Co. now living. Daniel M. Hayton, D.P. Ropp and S. W. Carnahan of Abington, and D. F. Cole of Montgomery, Va., members of the Co. still living. Mr. Marks joined the Co. I think April 16, 1864, at age 17 years.
