This Indenture made the first day of January Eighteen Hundred 
and twenty eight between Mourning Mitchell of the state and 
county of DeKalb the one part and Lewis Spear of the other.
Witnesseth that the said Mourning Mitchel for and in 
consideration of the sum of One Hundred dollars to her in 
hand paid at and before the delivery of this receipt the 
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged that hath granted 
bargained sold convaied and confirmed and by these presents 
do bargain and sell all of that parcel of Land lying and being 
in the state and county aforesaid known by No 138 commencing on 
a Hickory corner adjoining Spear and running to a R Oak and to 
a Hickory corner on Greens line and from there to the commencing 
again. And will warrent and defend all his Singular the rites 
and titles do by these presance my heirs assigned and 
administrators, do warrent and defend forever in fee simple. 
Where of I have here unto set my hand and fixed my seal this 
the day and date above written.

Personally came before me Jesse Spear who being duly sworn deponeth 
and saith that he saw Mourning Mitchell make sign and deliver the 
within deed for the purposes therein mentioned, and that the 
deponent subscribed the same as a witness and saw Wm W. Smith 
do so like wise. Sworn to and subscribed before me this 23rd 
August 1828.

Additional Comments:
Lot No 138 in the deed was probably Lot 128.
