NOTE: Unless stated otherwise, all grantors and grantees were from the area now called Jasper County, Georgia. Before 1807 this same area was a part of Baldwin County and from 1807 until 1812 it was called Randolph County. In 1812 the name was changed to Jasper County. The names listed here are spelled the same as the actual record to the best of my ability to read the record. Book 4, p.5-7, dated Jan 1, 1811. ARON WILLIAMS sold to THOMAS WARD and HAYNES PAYNE, Trustees of Falling Creek Baptist Church, for $5. Description: 200 1/2 acres, on the waters of Falling Creek. (Lot and District not given.) Witnesses: ARINGTON WILLIAMS & RICHARD CARTER, J.P. Recorded: Apr. 27, 1811, by H. WALKER, Clk Book 5, p.72-73, dated Jan. 9, 1812. JOHN WHITE (of Jackson County, Georgia) sold to THOMAS WARD for $400. Description: 202 1/2 acres, Lot 149, Dist. 17, on the waters of Falling Creek. Witnesses: DAVID THOMPSON & JOSEPH CAMP, J.P. Recorded: Jan. 27, 1812, by H. WALKER, Clk Book 5, p. 294 & 295, dated June 26, 1812. THOMAS WARD sold to WILLIAM PEACOCK for $200. Description: 50 acres, part of Lot 149, SE side, 7th District (sic 17th, there is no 7th in Jasper County) Borders BEACOCK (sic PEACOCK's) other land & ISACC WELDEN. Witnesses: CHEADLE COCHRAN, JOHN GANDY, & HIRAM GLAZIER, J.P. Recorded: June 29, 1812, by H. WALKER, Clk Book 5, p. 298 & 299, dated June 26, 1812. THOMAS WARD sold to CHEADLE COCHRAN for $425. Description: 110 acres, part of Lot 149, District 17, NE side. Borders JOSEPH REED, THOMAS WARD, & JOHN GANDY. Witnesses: JOHN GANDY, JAMES CRANFORD, & HIRAM GLAZIER, J.P. Book 5, pp. 536 & 537, dated Sept. 24, 1810. BENTON RUCKER sold to JOHN T. WARD for $300. Description: 202 1/2 acres, Lot 118, District 18 of Baldwin County drawn by JAMES GLISSON on the waters of Herds Creek. Witnesses: JOHN CARGILE, & CHARLES CARGILE, J.P., plus an affidavit dated April 4, 1813 by JOHN CARGILE witnessed by E. GREENE, J.P. Recorded: April 5, 1813, by HENRY WALKER, Clk. Book 5, p. 538 & 539, dated Nov. 24, 1810. JOHN T. WARD sold to DAVID EVANS for $100. Description: Lot 118 on the waters of Herds Creek drawn by JAMES GLISSTON of MULKEYS district Burke County granted Dec. 7, 1808. (Note: The land district was not given, but from the description it should be in district 18.) Witnesses: JOHN SPAIN & WILLIAM M. COCHRAN, plus an affidavit dated April 5, 1813 by WILLIAM M. Description: 75 acres of Lot 149, district 17 Baldwin County now Randolph County originally granted to JOHN WHITE. Borders COOPER, PEACOCK, AND COCHRAN. Witnesses: MARTIN COCHRAN, WILLIAM WARD, AND CHEADLE COCHRAN, J.P. Recorded: Oct. 7, 1813, by HENRY WALKER, Clk. Book 6, page 379-380, dated Oct. 10, 1812. JOHN PEACOCK granted to DANIEL PEACOCK (no money exchanged.) Description: 100 acres, part of Lot 170, (District not given but probably district 17) with the following stipulation "only his mother is to have her living on it her Lifetime I have granted unto PRISCILLA PEACOCK two acres of land and a building on it to be her own property." Witnesses: JOSEPH REID and CH. (Cheadle?) COCHRAN, J.P. Recorded Jan. 23, 1815, by HENRY WALKER, Clk. Book 6, page 387-388, dated Nov. 14, 1814. WILLIAM WILKINS sold to KINCHEN BOHANNON for $85. Description: 37 8/10 acres of Lot 171, District 17. Witnesses: POLLY (her X mark) COCHRAN, and CH. (Cheadle?) COCHRAN, J. P. Recorded: Jan. 26, 1815 by HENRY WALKER, Clk Book 7, p. 14-15, dated Apr. 16, 1808. ROBERT BARNETT, Sr. sold to ENOCH WARD, both of Washington County, Georgia for $400. Description: 202 1/2 acres, Lot 16, District 14, Baldwin County, Georgia. Witnesses: WILLIAM PACE & THOMAS PACE, plus an affidavit by THOMAS PACE dated Aug. 31, 1808 and witnessed by J. IRVIN, J. P. Recorded: Sept. 28, 1815, by HENRY WALKER, Clk. Book 7, page 16, dated Apr. 20, 1809. ENOCH WARD of Washington County, Georgia, sold to WILLIAM MCDOWELL of Hancock County, Georgia, for $500. Description: 202 1/2 acres, Lot 16, district 14. Witnesses: JAMES MCDOWELL, STEPHEN EILAND, & E. WHITTINGTON, J.P. Recorded: Sept. 28, 1815, by HENRY WALKER, Clk. Book 7, page 422, dated July, 8, 1816. JOHN PEACOCK granted to LEWIS PEACOCK (no money exchanged.) Description: 50 acres, NW corner of Lot 170 (District not given but probably district 17) beginning on the bank of Falling Creek and bounded on the North and West by JOHN GANDAY. Witnesses: JAMES PERREW and MARTIN COCHRAN, J.P. Recorded: Sept. 28, 1816, by JOHN WILLSON, Clk. Book 7, p. 472-473, dated July 27, 1815. WILLIAM GOLDEN sold to JOHN WARD for $300. Description: 100 acres, SE ½ of Lot 95, 17th District. Witnesses: WILLIAM WARD & JAMES PERREW. A sworn affidavit follows, dated Oct. 14, 1816, by WILLIAM WARD stating that he witnessed the land transaction. Affidavit was witnessed by MARTIN COCHRAN, J.P. Recorded Nov. 7, 1816, by JOHN WILLSON, Clk. Book 7, page 523-524, dated Aug. 10, 1816. JOHN PEACOCK sold to KINCHEN BOHANNON for $500. Description: 50 acres, part of Lot 170, (District not given but probably district 17) in Jasper County. Witnesses: WILLIAM BURKS and ARTHUR MOORE, J.P. Recorded: Dec. 18, 1816, by JOHN WILLSON, Clk. Book 7, p. 574-575, dated Aug. 7, 1816. JACOB KELLY, Senior, sold to BENJAMIN WADE of Clarke County, Georgia, for $1400. Description: 202 ½ acres, known as Lot 222, District 16, granted to GEORGE WRAY bounded by Lot 223, the district line, lot 221, and lot 199. Witnesses: ASA RAGAN, JOHN ECTOR, and JOHN COLLIER, J.P. Signed: JACOB (his K mark) KELLY, Senior. An affidavit follows, dated Jan. 3, 1817, made by JANE KELLY, wife of JACOB KELLY, denouncing all claims to property conveyed to BENJAMIN WADE. Affidavit was witnessed by JOHN COLLIER, J.P. Recorded: Jan. 24, 1817, by JOHN WILLSON, Clk. Book 8, page 12, dated Nov. 7, 1816. OBEDIAH SATTERWHITE sold to WILLIAM PEACOCK for $200. Description: 41 acres, SW corner of Lot 149, District 17, bounded on COCHRAN line of said Lot and also PEACOCK'S and JOHN GANDY'S part of Lot 149. Attested: KINCHEN BOHANNON and MARTIN COCHRAN, J.P.
