Thomas http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00016.html#0003785 March 3, 2008, 8:17 pm Written: December 25, 1823 Recorded: January 24, 1824 Deeds Volume A, Page 190 Georgia Jasper County This Indenture made this the twenty-fifth day of December in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and twenty three between Soloman Groce of the one part and William Speer of the other part [Witnesseth struck through] both parties of said State and County. Witnesseth that the said Groce for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto him the said William Speer his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of Land situate and being in said State and County and bounded (as follows) on the South East, North East, & South West by lands of Solomon Groce and on the south west by Edwards Land containing Seventy-five acres more or less together with all and singular the rights, members, and everything thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the same, for his the said Wm Speer; only proper use, benefit and behoof in fee simple. And the said Soloman Groce for himself, his heirs, administrators and assigns and all and every other person or persons whatsoever do warrant and forever defend the rights and titles of the aforesaid tract of land unto him the said William Speer, his heirs administrators and assigns. In witness whereof the said Soloman Groce has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal, the day and year first written. Recorded the 24th January 1824 John Hill, Clerk Additional Comments: Groce’s first name is spelled Soloman in all instances except Solomon where it talks about the bounded lands.
