Gross of the County and state aforesaid of the one part, & William W. Parks of the same place, of the other part, Witnesseth that the said John R. Gross for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred Dollars, to him in hand paid, at & before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained sold & conveyed and do by these presents bargain, Sell and convey unto the said William W. Parks, his heirs, Executors administrators and assigns, all tract or parcel of land, situate, lying & being in the Eighteenth District of originally Baldwin, now Jasper County, being part of one tract of land whereon John R. Gross now lives – number not recollected, containing one hundred and fifty acres more or less adjoining lands of Mary Cargile and others commencing at a Black Oak corner, on the District line, thence along said line to a lightwood stump corner thence westly to a Hickory along Cargiles line thence northernly on Post line to a Iron Wood corner on the branch, thence up said branch to the head, thence a strait line to the beginning To have and to hold said land, with all and singular the rights members and appertinances (sic) thereunto belonging unto the said William W. Parks his heirs, Executors and administrators and assigns forever in fee simple, & said John R Gross, for himself, his heirs, Executors and administrators, the said bargained premises, unto the said William W. Parks, his heirs, and assigns, will warrant & forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves & against the claim of all other persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof the said John R.
