This Indenture made this Eighteenth day of Febuary (sic) in the year of our 
Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven between Ellison Gross of the 
County and State aforesaid of the one part and William B Stone of the same 
place of the other part witnesseth that the said Ellison Gross for and in 
consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid 
at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof 
is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and does by 
these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said William B Stone his 
heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in 
the County aforesaid being a part of the tract of land whereon said Ellison 
Gross now lives containing one hundred and twenty five acres more or less and 
lies as follows commencing at a stake corner on Charles G Walthalls at the 
North East corner running thence south with Joel Janea line to a rack, thence 
west a short distance to a pine, thence south a short distance painters thence 
west a short distance to a chesnut (sic), thence north to a white oak on the 
spring branch thence down said branch to a gum on the bank of said branch 
where a cross fence starts through the plantation, thence a straight line to 
where said cross fence joins the outside fence, thence a strait (sic) line 
continued to the creek, thence up said creek to where the line crosses aaid 
(sic) Creek, thence with the Widow Whites line to a lightwood knot corner 
thence East across said Creek running with  Walthalls line to a Hickory 
corner, thence past a short distance to the beginning stake corner; unto him 
the said William B Stone his heirs and assigns together with all and singular 
the rights members and appertances thereof to the same in anywise manner 
belonging to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee 
simple. And the said Ellison Gross for himself his heirs executors and 
Administrators the said bargained premises unto the said William B Stone his 
heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof 
against themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatever. In 
witness whereof the said Ellison Gross hath hereunto set his hand and seal the 
day and year above written.
