Gross of the County and state aforesaid, of the one part, and Harrison Bryant of the same place, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said John R. Gross for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and ninety Dollars – to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained sold and conveyed, & does by these presents, grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Harrison Bryant, his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the Eighteenth District of originally Baldwin, now Jasper County—number not known, it being the place whereon Solomon Gross formerly lived adjoining lands to Ellison Gross, Daniel McDowell & Ervin Brown. Commencing on on (sic) a Red Oak on the District line, thence along the District Line, to the gin Branch, thence to the head of the Gin Race, thence to a Red Oak stump adjoining Willson (sic), thence to chestnut on the original line, thence along said line to a Dogwood, thence to a Pine, thence to the beginning, Containing one hundred and twenty five acres more or less. To have and to hold the said bargained land, unto him the said Harrison Bryant his heirs and assigns, together— with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his and their own proper use benefit & behoof forever in fee simple And John R. Gross- for himself his heirs, executors and administrators the said bargained premises unto the said Harrison Bryant, his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend, the right and title thereof against themselves, and against the claims of all other persons whatsoever- In witness whereof the said John R.
