This indenture made and entered into this seventh day of August in the year of 
our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty, between Ellison Gross of the 
one part and Thomas J. Dozier of the other part, both of the County and State 
aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said Gross for and in consideration of the sum 
of Five hundred Dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged hath bargained, sold and released, and by these presents doth 
confirm to the said Dozier his heirs or assigns, administrators or Executors, 
All that tract or parcel of Land containing one hundred and eighty six acres, 
be the same more or less lying and being in the seventeenth District of 
formerly Baldwin, now Jasper County. Known and distinguished by the south west 
part of Lot number seventy seven, beginning at a lightwood stump on Woody 
Dozier’s line, thence running south to a pine stump, thence to a Branch, thence 
with Puckett’s line to a post oak stake on Lemon’s line, thence running with 
Lemon’s line to the corner, thence to a persimmon Tree, thence to branch, 
Thence down the meanders of the Branch to the junction of another branch, 
thence to a hickory corner, thence to the beginning at a lightwood stump, all 
of which lot or parcel of Land, the said Gross does for himself, his wife, his 
heirs, administrators or Executors warrant and forever defend to the said 
Dozier his heirs, administrators or Executors forever against the claim or 
claims of all and every other person whomsoever. In witness whereof, I have 
hereunto set my hand and seal, Signed, sealed and delivered
in presence of Robert Price                                 Ellison Gross {seal}
