All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Robert Ellis http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00017.html#0004075 July 4, 2007, 1:34 pm Written: August 9, 1814 WILLIAM HARWELL TO JAMES ELLIS Georgia Jasper County Know ye that I William Harwell of the County of Jasper and State of Georgia for the consideration of two hundred dollars received to my satisfaction do give grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto James Ellis his heirs and assigns forever a certain part of a lot of land containing fifty acres being part of lot 72 lying in the eighteenth district Baldwin County now Jasper County granted to William Harwell, Senr beginning at a white oak corner thence S. 45 E. 23.25 chs to p. o. post thence S. 45 W. 21.08 chs to a stake thence N. 45 W. 23.25 chs to a stake thence N. 45 E. 21.08 chs leaving the Rocky Spring to Elijah Davidson lying on the waters of Murder Creek adjoining Wm Loyd and Mr. Powell. To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto the above named James Ellis his heirs & assigns forever to his and their proper use and behoof and also I the said William Harwell for myself my heirs executors and administrators covenant with the said James Ellis his heirs and assigns that at and until the sealing of these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good and indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the said in manner and form as is above written & that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever & furthermore I the said William Harwell do by these presents bind myself & my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to the said James Ellis his heirs & assigns against the claim or claims of all person or persons whatsoever.
