Thomas http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00016.html#0003785 February 10, 2008, 4:48 pm Written: April 10, 1818 Recorded: January 6, 1819 Deeds Vol B-1 Pages 68-69 Georgia Jasper County This Indenture made and entered into this [first is struck through] 10th April 1818 between William Legit of the County of Clark and State aforesaid of the one part and Ellison Groce of the County of Jasper and state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Legit for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred and Eight dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained Sold and released and by and by (sic) these [present is struck through] doth confirm to the said Groce his heirs and assigns all that lot and tract of Land known by Lot number 77 in the 14th District formerly Baldwin County Now Jasper Bounded as released to me a plan of the plot and grant beginning on a hickory thence to a Black oak thence to an ash post thence to hickory thence to the beginning Corner adjoining A Lemons Stephen Blesset Wm Norris and Nelson the said Legit doth for himself his wife ___ing his heirs and administrators warrant and forever defend the lot and premises aforesaid bring by estimate two hundred two and a half acres be the same more or less drawn Liddy Beasley Clarke County Dukes district to the said Groce his heirs and assigns forever against the said Legit his heirs and assigns and all and every other person or persons whatsoever in fee simple given under my hand the day and date above written Solomon Gross William Legit {seal} John Price Georgia Jasper County Personally came and appeared before me Solomon Groce who being duly sworn saith that he was one of the subscribing witnesses with John Price to the written deed and that he said William Legit subscriber said deed sworn to before me this the 21st day of November 1818 James L.
