The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Deed: Jeremiah Lumsden and Jeremiah Lumsden Jr. Jasper Co, Ga Deed Book 8 Page 149 Date 17 Nov 1817 This indenture made and concluded on this seventeenth day of November in the year of our Lord Christ One thousand eight hundred and seventeen and of the Independence of America forty two between Jeremiah Lumsden Senior of the one part and Jeremiah Lumsden Junior of the other part both of the County of Jasper and State of Georgia. Witness, that for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt he doth hereby acknowledge and hereof exonerate, hath given, granted bargained sold and confirmed unto Jeremiah Lumsden Junr and his heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Baldwin when surveyed now Jasper County on the waters of Gap Creek it being part of Lot number sixty four drawn by Cook and granted to him by the State beginning at a stake on the North corner thence to a Hickory & thence to a Black Oak, thence to a Red Oak, thence to the beginning it being seventy acres more or less. To have and to hold in fee simple forever all the rights, members, appurtenances thereunto being and belonging or appertaining thereunto. And the said Jeremiah Lumsden Senr doth warrant and forever defend the said land against all and every person or persons whatever and the said Jeremiah Lumsden Senr do give the said Jeremiah Lumsden Junr peaceable posession of that seventy acres of land to him and his heirs forever to their own proper use benefit and behoof in fee simple.
