The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Deed: Jeremiah Lumsden and John Lumsden Jasper Co, Ga Deed Book 8 Page 150 & 151 Date 17 Nov 1817 This indenture made and concluded on this seventeenth day of November in the year of our Lord Christ One thousand eight hundred and seventeen and of the Independence of America forty two between Jeremiah Lumsden of the County of Jasper and State of Georgia of the one part and John Lumsden of the county and State aforesaid, of the other part. Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of a sum of One hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt he doth hereby acknowledge and hereof exonerates, hath given, granted bargained sold ________ _________and confirmed unto John Lumsden and his heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Baldwin when surveyed now Jasper County on the waters of Murder Creek it being part of the Lot number sixty four drawn by one Cook and granted to him by the State. Beginning at a pine stake on the west corner of the said lot and running on the original line to a red oak, thence cornering and running to a Black Oak, thence cornering and running to a hickory agreed on for a corner thence cornering and running to the pine stake at the beginning. Seventy acres in the bounds more or less. To have and to hold in fee simple forever all the rights, members and appurtenances thereto being and belonging all the woods and {underwoods}, waters, house, orchards, mines, minerals, hereditaments & appurtenances thereto belonging. And the said Jeremiah Lumsden Senr doth warrant and forever defend defend {sic} the same against all and every person and persons whatsoever laying lawful claim thereto and the said Jeremiah Lumsden gives the said John Lumsden peaceable {possession}of that seventy acres of land to him and his heirs forever to their own proper use benefit and behoof in fee simple.
