This Indenture made this Thirteenth day of December one thousand Eight hundred 
and forty-seven between William W. Parks, of the County and State aforesaid, 
of the one part, and Zachariah Williams of the other part. Witnesseth- that 
the said William W. Parks for and in Consideration of the Sum of Five hundred 
Dollars to him in hand paid, at and before the sealing and delivery of of 
(sic) these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted 
bargained, sold and conveyed and does by these presents grant bargain, sell 
and convey unto the said Zachariah Williams his heirs and assigns all that 
tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the Eighteenth District of 
originally Baldwin now Jasper County, number not known, it being the place 
whereon Solomon Gross formerly lived adjoining lands of Elijah M Gross and 
John R Gross, Daniel McDowell, Obadiah R. Belcher, commencing on a Red Oak on 
the District Line, thence along the District line to the gin Branch, thence to 
the head of the Gin Race, thence to a Red Oak stump adjoining Lynch thence to 
a Chestnut Stake, thence to a Red oak thence to a Lightwood Knot- Thence to a 
Chestnut on the Original line, thence along said line, to a Dogwood, thence to 
a pine, thence to the beginning, Containing One hundred and Twenty-one acres 
more or less, to have and to hold the said bargained land, unto him the said 
Zachariah Williams his heirs and assigns together with all & singular the 
rights members and appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging, 
to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof, forever in fee simple, the 
said William W. Parks for himself, his heirs, Executors & administrators the 
said bargained premises unto the said Zachariah Williams his heirs and assigns 
will warrant & forever defend the rights & titles thereof against themselves 
and against the claim of all other persons whatever.
   In Witness whereof the said William B. Parks hath hereunto set his hand & 
seal the day & year above written
