Know ye that I Thomas Robinson of the County and State aforesaid for the 
consideration of one thousand dollars received to my satisfaction do give grant 
bargain sell and confirm unto Solomon Gross his heirs and assigns forever a 
certain piece or parcel of land situate and lying in the Eighteenth district 
Baldwin County now Jasper County on the waters of Hardy Creek containing one 
hundred and fifty [blank space] acres and a half beginning at a pine thence 
N45,E45 chains to a dogwood, thence N45.16.35 ch’s and 75 links to a stake 
thence S45.W45. ch’s to a stake, thence S45.E35 ch’s and 75 links to the 
beginning Corner it being part of lot No. 171 drawn by David Montgomery Malones 
district Wilkes County. Joining by dis’t No. 17 and No. 170 then by part of 
said lot thence by No. 188 as will more fully appear by a map of the same. To 
have and to hold the above granted bargained prem’s with the appurtenances 
thereof unto the above named S. Gross his heirs and assigns to their own proper 
use & behoof and also I the said Thomas Robinson for myself my heirs Executors 
and Administrators Covenant with the s’d Gross his heirs and assigns that at 
and until the ensealing of these presents I am well seized of the premises as a 
good and indefeasible estate in fee simple and having good right to bargain & 
sell the same in manner & form as is above written and that the same is free of 
all incumbrances (sic) whatsoever and further more I the said Thomas Robinson 
do by these presents bind myself & my heirs forever to warrant and defend the 
above granted and bargained premises to him the s’d Solomon Gross his heirs and 
assigns against all claims and demands what”v—In witness whereof I have set my 
hand & seal the 17 day of November 1814.
