JAMES STANLEY POA TO  JAMES ELLIS

State of Tennessee
Franklin County
Know all men by these presents that I James Stanley of the county and state 
above written hereunto constitute and appoint and by these presents do 
constitute and appoint James Ellis of the State of Georgia and County of Jasper 
my true and lawful attorney in fact to arrange and attend to the collection of 
my wife Amy Stanley, formerly Amy Ellis, part of the estate of David McCoy 
deceased of Rowan County North Carolina and he is truly authorised and 
empowered to ask for _______ and receive all sum or sums of money and all 
property of any kind that may be right belonging to my said wife part of said 
Estate and make such receipts or instruments of writing as may be necessary to 
arrange and adjust the same as aforesaid.  And I do hereby ratify and confirm 
all the actings and doings of my said Attorney which he may do or cause to be 
done on the said premises as fully and firmly as if I myself had been present 
and personally done and transacted the same.  In witness whereof I have 
hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of August 1821.

In person came John Ellis before me John Bean one of the acting Justice of the 
Peace for said County and after being duly sworn saith on oath that he saw 
James Stanley assign the within for the purposes within mentioned and saw Eli 
C______ assign the same as a witness and was a subscribing witness to the same 
himself.
