Indenture between John Traylor & Daniel Dawkins 03 Aug 1816 Jasper Co, GA State of Georgia Jasper County Bk. 7 pp.453-454 This indenture made this third day of August One thousand eight hundred and sixteen between John TRAYLOR of the one part and Daniel DAWKINS of the other part both of the abovementioned state and county aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said John TRAYLOR this day for andin consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to hin in hand paid the receipt whereof ishereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and do by these presents bargain & sell unto DanielDAWKINS his heirs & assigns one hundred acres of a lot of land being and lying in the sixteenth District of Baldwin now Jasper County which said tract is known by the same and the scribe in theplan of said tract or lot by the number one hundred and forty four having such shape and form andmarks as appearing by a plat of the same annex’d to the grant it being part of the above describedlot on the East and beginning on a post oak Wm. TRAYLOR’s corner running N50W 28.15 to astake thence S40W 35.59 to a red oak corner thence S50E 28.15 to a post oak corner thenceN40E 35.59 to the beginning corner on Falling Creek waters. To have and to hold the said landor parcel of land together with all and singular the rights, numbers, appurtenances thereof of everykind whatsoever unto the said Daniel DAWKINS his heirs and assigns to their own proper use,benefit and behalf and I the said John TRAYLOR do warrant and forever defend the said landfrom any person or persons laying any lawful claims to said tract or parcel of land and I do bindmyself , my heirs, assigns and administrators to maintain a good and sufficient title to said land infee simple to Daniel DAWKINS and heirs.
